Business has many departments that work in harmony to ensure it is running smoothly. There are many careers that provide an in depth look at how business works. Ironically a degree is not a requirement for a business to be successful in most fields and on the other hand if you have a degree in Communication Studies or Social Science it is great for Marketing, but there are also fields that do require a degree in Business Administration.
Accounting is one of the more versatile and traditional fields in business, and not to confuse it with finance. Accounting, also known as the “language of business“ is analyzing and interpreting the health of any industry ranging from big corporations to small businesses. Accounting can work in these fields, business is more common, but you can work in government by being a forensic accountant or by being a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) where you consult and provide service to your consumers. This field requires a degree in Business Administration.
Marketing is where you can show creativity and art for brand awareness and that’s on the surface. In the field of marketing you can interact with consumers and listen to their feedback in order to make your brand more appealing and accommodating. You can also research your niche and look up trends to make your brand more noticeable. Marketing is one of the fields in business that does not require a business degree, communication, social science, or digital art are acceptable to work in Marketing.
Lastly, depending on what degree you earn it is important to gain experience and insight on these respective fields.
