Leaders Embracing Ableness

“You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”

-Dr. Maya Angelou

We accept invitations to speak at your events

Our team of speakers include subject matter experts on topics related to diversity, equity, and inclusion of persons with disabilities. More specifically, we focus on leadership strategies for students with learning disabilities in higher education.

Our Mission

We pride ourselves on embracing the differences in people’s abilities. Not everyone with disabilities — defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act as a physical or mental condition that substantially limits one or more major life activities such as walking, talking, seeing, hearing, or learning — have obvious physical challenges.

It is important to recognize that it may not be apparent that someone has a disability, especially when they exhibit high levels of self-determination to overcome them. People with hidden disabilities that are cognitive and psychological in nature are unique in many ways.

Take, for example, the following list of celebrities who have found success in their careers of choice:

  • Kiera Knightly (Dyslexia)
  • Solange Knowles (ADHD)
  • Daniel Radcliffe (Dyspraxia)
  • Will Smith (ADHD)
  • Justin Timberlake (ADHD)
  • Michael Jordan (ADHD)

Our History

Our research helps discover solutions and advocate for persons with hidden disabilities to succeed in education and the workplace. We hope that this important work will reduce bullying on campuses, the classroom, and the workplace. We seek to work with others who want to progress these efforts to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion for the most vulnerable people with so much to offer
