The Veteran Business Resiliency Accelerator Program kicks off in 2022 to provide a solid skillset for veteran entrepreneurs and their spouses to give their startups and existing businesses the greatest opportunity to succeed.
The business incubator program is hosted by small business champion LiftFund, a nonprofit small business lender, in partnership with veteran-owned training and consulting firm Table SALT Group. The Veteran Business Resiliency Accelerator Program is generously funded by the United Way of Tarrant County Mission United.
A series of information sessions were held to introduce the program and its partners to veteran entrepreneurs and spouses, who would be potential participants. The enrollment period is now open until January 29th. The first 75 applicants will receive a business essentials package.
The online training starts in February with Zoom meetings every other Tuesday for eight weeks from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., followed by one-on-one business consultation meetings with business advisors. A virtual graduation will take place in June. During a bonus program in March, participants will be able to attend a healthy living session and credit consultation hosted by LiftFund.
Enrollment is now open to veteran entrepreneurs and veteran spouses who will and do operate their businesses in Texas. Participants must submit an application and agree to attend all eight virtual training sessions and the graduation ceremony.
The accelerator program will provide veteran business owners with the building blocks of four key areas: Personal Well Being and Self-Care; Financial Literacy; Healthy Living Strategies; and Business Development and Sustainability. The Veteran Business Resiliency Accelerator emphasizes preparation for doing business in the federal marketplace and connects entrepreneurs with a community of business veterans who give around-the-clock support.
As a woman and veteran-owned business, the Table SALT Group recognizes the importance of supporting budding veteran entrepreneurs, especially women under-represented in both the military and the business community. Table SALT Group owners, Maj. Gen. Carlton Smith (ARNG) and spouse, LaRachelle Smith, a trained researcher, and entrepreneur understand the unique challenges women and veterans face in transitioning from military to civilian careers and adopting an entrepreneurial attitude toward a new business.
Veteran entrepreneurs bring superb skills to the business community. Still, it’s also essential that they plug the gaps in their business skill sets and access resources vital to small business growth. All participants who complete the program will be well-positioned for funding opportunities and receive significant discounts on business essentials to help with marketing, legal advice, accounting, and banking relationships for credit and financing as needed.
